NIAR Celebrates 43 Years of Excellence in Amateur Radio and Humanitarian Service

The National Institute of Amateur Radio (NIAR), Hyderabad, celebrated its 43rd Anniversary on 27 June 2026, marking over four decades of dedicated service in promoting amateur radio, emergency communications, technical education, and community service.

The celebrations featured technical workshops on Fox Hunting (Radio Direction Finding), Software Defined Radio (SDR), and HF communications, providing students and aspiring amateur radio operators with valuable hands-on learning experiences. The event also brought together veteran hams, young enthusiasts, volunteers, and supporters to share knowledge, experiences, and the rich legacy of amateur radio.

During the programme, new Amateur Station Operator's Certificate (ASOC) holders received their updated WPC-issued certificates, while life membership certificates were presented to new NIAR members. Senior members highlighted NIAR's pioneering contributions to disaster communication, technical training, youth engagement, and humanitarian initiatives over the past 43 years.

The anniversary concluded with NIAR reaffirming its commitment to advancing amateur radio through modern digital technologies, STEM education, satellite communications, and stronger collaborations with educational institutions, inspiring the next generation of radio amateurs.

Congratulations to NIAR on completing 43 remarkable years of service, innovation, and dedication to the amateur radio community.
