Skyroot Aerospace is set to create history with the launch of Vikram-1, India's first privately developed orbital launch vehicle. The mission, named "Mission Aagaman," is scheduled for 18 July 2026 at 11:30 AM IST from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC-SHAR), Sriharikota.
Founded in 2018 by former ISRO engineers Pawan Kumar Chandana and Naga Bharath Daka, Skyroot Aerospace is headquartered in Hyderabad and aims to provide affordable and reliable launch services for small satellites.
The Vikram-1 rocket is designed to place small satellites into Low Earth Orbit, strengthening India's growing commercial space ecosystem. The mission represents a major milestone for the Indian private space industry and demonstrates the country's expanding capabilities in space technology.
Although no amateur radio payload or beacon has been announced for this mission, the launch is of significant interest to the amateur radio and satellite community as it showcases India's rapid progress in space exploration and commercial launch services.
